Volunteer & Watch D.O.G.S. Information
Whether you are able to spend one day a week, or one day a year, we welcome you to volunteer at Monte Cristo! For volunteer opportunities, please contact your child’s teacher or the main office. Volunteer activities are based on the time you have to give, your strengths and interests, and student and teacher needs. Activities include:
- Listening to students read
- Practicing flashcards
- Correcting papers
- Organizing materials for projects
- Field trips
All volunteers must complete a Washington State Patrol background check, which is good for two years. You may download and complete the WASHINGTON STATE PATROL form and send it to school along with a copy of your driver’s license or come into the office and we will gladly help you. WSP clearance is good for two years.
Watch DOGS Now Recruiting Male Volunteers
Watch DOGS–or Dads of Great Students–is a program specially designed to get male role models involved! Watch DOGS help out in the classrooms, lunchroom, and at recess. If you are interested in becoming a Watch DOG, please contact Raphil Hasegawa at 360-691-7718. Watch DOGS please join us on October 27th @ 6:00 pm for pizza and learn more about this outstanding volunteer program.
All Watch DOGS must complete the following prior to scheduling their first day of volunteering:
1) Watch DOG registration form available here
2) Washington State Patrol background check available here along with a copy of your driver’s license
